Wednesday evening, November 18, 2015, Davison Community Schools hosted their second Parent University. The opening presentation was focused on social media and how it may impacts a person’s digital legacy.
A few key points were teen trends, photo sharing and the effect of send:
- “If you do not want people to see it, then you should not post it or send it. There are no secret conversations; be the person you aspire to be at all times.” – Kevin Honeycutt
- “Never let a 140 character tweet cost you a $140,000 scholarship,” Brandon Chambers, an assistant men’s basketball coach at Marymount (Virginia) University, tweeted on Aug. 25. – JDIVERON@DemocratandChronicle.com
The Davison event ended with question and answers from the parents and staff in attendance. The event was well received with an invitation from Davison Schools Leadership team to have the Genesee Intermediate School District’s staff return and share more about different applications and more community awareness and support.
The goal for Davison Community Schools is to host a Parent University event every quarter.
